ConvertPS 5.0 Windows translates the PostScript files and converts them into more compatible vector- and pixel-formats like e.g. Windows Metafile (WMF) or Bitmaps (BMP).
  Hence every PostScript file can be displayed and controlled on screen. ConvertPS translates the complete PostScript code of the file in question, thus enabling the user to process the result to a certain extent in nearly any Windows application. ConvertPS uses the platform independant character of PostScript, hence permitting an exchange of translated PostScript files throughout the various platforms.
   
  ConvertPS 5.0 for Windows offers the following functionalities

    PostScript (PS, EPS, AI, PRN)
  • Output formats:
    Vector (WMF, EMF, DXF, SVG, PDF)
    Bitmap (BMP, TIFF, JPEG, PNG, GIF)
  • User Interface Classic with Preview-, Zoom-, Cut- and Print-Function
  • -OLE-Server provides the possibility to import PostScript-file formats in applications supporting OLE.
  • PostScript-Import filter for Office and PageMaker
  • Browser support with Netscape Browser-Plug in and ActiveX
  • Batch Processing for automatic converting of a large number of files via a special interface res. Command line tool, which supports wildcards.
  Add-on product ConvertPS 5.0 SDK
  An additional so-called User-DLL is provided. This DLL offers the possibility to integrate ConvertPS in own applications. The DLL has a simple programming interface, which is described in the programming manual. Additionally all the C-Header files and Libraries needed and program examples in source code for C++ and Visual-Basic are included. For the User-DLL an installation of the basic program ConvertPS 5.0 Windows is required.
   
  Add-on product ConvertPS 5.0 Service
  An additional program component is provided, which can be installed as converting service on a Windows/NT/2000/XP server. An installation of the basic product ConvertPS 5.0 Windows is required. This service provides the following functionalities:
 
  • Hot folders
    Certain folders are watched for the existing of PostScript-files. When files are found these will be converted automatically. Different target formats can be stored in different directories.
  • Virtual Print Service
    With ’ConvertPS Print Service’ a virtual printer port is installed, which can be used by various applications as printer interface. These print jobs provided are automatically converted in one of the supported output formats (EMF, SVG, etc.) and are stored in a configurable directory.
